Will it save money?

That depends on how your lender calculates interest. Where interest accrues over time, settling early reduces what you pay. Where the total payable was fixed at approval, the figure may not change. Ask for the settlement figure in writing before you pay — it is the only number that matters.

After settling

Once your final payment is confirmed, the loan moves to Completed and nothing further is owed.
