What KYC means
KYC — "Know Your Customer" — is the process of confirming you are who you say you are. Regulated lenders are legally required to complete it before releasing funds.
Why it protects you
It prevents anyone from taking out a loan in your name. Identity theft in lending is common, and verification is the main defence against it.
What you need
- A government-issued photo ID — passport, driver's licence or national ID card.
- Proof of address dated within the last three months — a utility bill or bank statement.
- A selfie, if your lender has enabled that check.
Your KYC status is always visible at the top of your dashboard and beside KYC Verification in the sidebar.
