Personal Loans
One fixed payment for the things that will not wait
Figures shown are for Personal Loan and update automatically when our published rates change. Your own offer depends on the amount, the term and our assessment.
A personal loan gives you a lump sum up front which you repay in fixed monthly instalments. Because the rate and term are agreed at the start, the amount leaving your account never changes — which makes it far easier to budget around than a credit card or an overdraft.
What people use it for
Most personal loans we see fall into three groups: a cost that arrived unexpectedly, a purchase worth spreading over time, or replacing more expensive borrowing with something cheaper. Common examples are a boiler or car repair, a wedding or a move, dental or medical work, or consolidating several card balances into one payment.
What matters is not the reason so much as whether the repayment fits comfortably alongside everything else you pay each month. We assess that before approving, and you should too.
How the cost works
You repay the amount borrowed plus interest, divided evenly across the term. A longer term lowers the monthly payment but increases the total interest, because you are borrowing for longer. A shorter term does the reverse.
There is no penalty for settling early. If you repay ahead of schedule you pay less interest overall, and you can see the exact figure in your portal before confirming.
What happens after you apply
We verify your identity, check the details on your application, and assess affordability. Most complete applications receive a decision within one to three business days. If anything is missing we ask for it directly in your portal and by email, so nothing sits waiting without you knowing.
Once approved, funds are released to the account on your application and your repayment schedule appears under My Loans, where you can follow every payment.
Common questions
Will applying affect my credit file?
Using the repayment calculator does not. A full application involves a credit check, which is recorded.
Can I repay early?
Yes, at any time and without a penalty. You pay interest only for the period you actually borrowed.
What if my circumstances change?
Tell us as early as you can. Missed payments are much easier to resolve before they age, and we would rather adjust a plan than pursue arrears.
